LEADERSHIP

David King has been active in the real estate business for approximately 30 years and has been involved in all aspects of real estate ownership, including investing, financing, and development.  He started his career in the Real Estate Finance Group at Bankers Trust Company and later became a Senior Vice President of Olympia & York Companies (U.S.A.), which later became Brookfield Properties.  

Following Brookfield, David joined NorthStar Capital Partners, a manager of opportunistic real estate investment funds, as a partner. While at NorthStar, he originated and managed numerous investments in the office, multifamily and retail sectors.  He also started a subordinate real estate debt investment fund in partnership with a major U. S. pension fund.  Ultimately management of this fund transitioned to First Point.

In 2005, he formed First Point Partners, a real estate investment vehicle which invested in both real estate equity and debt in partnership with family offices and institutional partners.  First Point’s multifamily investments concentrated on emerging and gentrifying segments of the New York City market as well as long term redevelopment opportunities in the suburban Washington, DC market.  

From 2014 through 2019 he served as Managing Director of a privately held real estate investment and development company where he was responsible for all aspects of the firm’s extensive real estate activities including development, redevelopment, leasing, and financing.  In 2020 he refocused full time on First Point’s investment and advisory businesses.

He graduated from Princeton University with an A.B. in Classics, cum laude, and from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with an M.B.A.
